As more and more customers look to switch bank accounts and turn to alternative banking methods such as internet and mobile banking the chances of "forgeting" about existing savings and deposits will increase.

£12m in 'forgotten bank accounts'
Figures suggest there is an estimated £12m sitting in these accounts in Northern Ireland.
Stephen Cruise, managing director of Branch Banking, Private Banking and Advice at Ulster Bank, is welcoming the initiative.
"At a time when people are tightening their purse strings, Ulster Bank is pleased to work with the Consumer Council on the 'Forgotten Accounts' campaign", he said.
"A parent or relative might have opened an account for you when you were young but it's so long ago you don't remember and we are encouraging as many people as possible to check", he added.
