Crystal Renn’s plus size figure is really what her career is all about in the first place, so what would happen if she decided to lose the curves that she is so well known for?



Use of plus size clothing models on the runways has been criticized by the industry, often stating the entire regime of getting plus sizes on the runway as a gimmick, overshadowing the clothes themselves, and bringing more attention to the subject of female figure when its not about that. “The problem is this focus on straight sizes and plus sizes. It is creating an “us and them” mentality. We need to change the way we approach the whole thing, and do away with these terms. All we are is a bunch of models, no matter what size”

Regardless of the continuous waves of controversy surrounding her figure, which she herself is so against, be it legitimate or digitally manipulated, she is still an inspirational model and will continue to fight against the separation of normal models, and plus sizes.
